Elaine Power discusses food costs as a result of climate change

“The struggle is more about the panic and the fear and the shame and the embarrassment, because when you can’t send your children to school with food, you end up not sending them to school,” she said.

“All the money went to the rent. The only thing that you have any leeway on is your food, because you need to pay your utilities, you need to pay your rent, you need to get your kids to daycare, you need to pay for gas. All the things you need to pay for, the only thing you have any leverage on is food."
