After the completion of my BSc in Biology and BAH in Health Studies, I will be going to Strathclyde University in Glasgow Scotland to complete my Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary). Health has now been included as a core focus in all aspects of education along with literacy and numeracy. I plan on working in Scotland after the completion of the program. I have deferred my entry into the London School of Economics’ MSC Health, Community and Development program for one year. In 2010-11, I will be in the Bachelor of Education (Primary-Junior) at York University which will include a teaching placement in Kenya at the end of Winter Term 2011. I am currently working as a research assistant for my undergraduate project supervisor Dr. Amy Latimer here at SKHS during the summer. In September 2010, I will be returning to Queen’s for a 16-month Masters of Public Health in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology. Upon completing the program, I am hoping to work as a mental health promotion specialist in the area of eating disorders, depression, and risky sexual behaviours prevention among the adolescent population.
