This fall, I will be continuing my education at the University of Toronto pursuing a Master of Nursing. After completing the two-year accelerated program, I hope to practice as a nurse at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital where I currently work and then return to school to eventually become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I am excited to bring my knowledge of health promotion and health behaviour change to the clinical world of nursing. C.S. – BAH MAJ HLTH, BIOL MIN
I was fortunate to land a job immediately after finishing fourth year as a Research Assistant at the Brockville Mental Health Centre, conducting research on individuals with severe mental illness who have been found Not Criminally Responsible for their crime(s). Through daily interactions with patients and after a month of being knees deep in fascinating research initiatives, I have found my passion for working with those suffering from mental health disorders. Following my current contract at the hospital, I am going to further my education and plan to continue a career within this significant area of health. L.H. – BAH MAJ HLTH, BIOL MIN
Upon graduating with a B.A.(Honours) in Health Studies and Biology, I will be one month into my summer semester at the State University of New York, Potsdam in pursuit of my Master of Science in Teaching (MST) for Adolescence Biology. I hope to combine my passion for education with my wanderlust by teaching abroad before settling into a career. Ultimately, I see myself established in Ontario as a principal, using my Health Studies background prominently in volunteer and community work. A.G. – BAH MAJ HLTH, BIOL MIN
In the fall, I will return to Queen’s to begin my Master of Public Health. In the future, I hope to be involved in health promotion with various levels of government or with NGOs. And it would be a dream come true to one day work at the World Health Organization. S.K. – BAH MAJ HLTH
Upon graduating with a B.A. (Honours) in Health Studies, I will continue to work as a lab coordinator in the Revved Up Lab in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen’s University. I will be taking the upcoming academic year off of school to work, write the LSAT’s, apply to post-graduate programs in Law, and potentially travel to the south of France! I am hopeful that following my post-graduate degree I can pursue a career in health and/or disability policy, in which I can create change and see the field of health continue to flourish.
