Ross Lab examines which exercise is most beneficial for an individual’s health and fitness

Source: Kingston Whig (March 12, 2020):  What kind of exercise would work for you? Queen’s study to find out.

“This is an exercise lifestyle study that is trying to determine what amount or intensity of exercise is optimal for a given individual when the objective is to improve fitness,” Dr. Robert Ross, the researcher leading the study, explained.

“… Some people who follow the guidelines and do 150 minutes of exercise will not improve,” he said. “So that begs the question: Should they do a little more, or work a little harder? Should they increase the number of minutes or the intensity during those minutes?”

To find out, Ross and his colleagues are looking for people willing to come to their lab and do some supervised exercise five times a week, which will mostly involve walking on a treadmill.
