Major

  • Automatic Acceptance:  A- in HLTH 101 and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 
  • Pending List: B- in HLTH 101 and a cumulative GPA of 2.3

Joint Honours

  • Automatic Acceptance:  A- in HLTH 101 and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 
  • Pending List: B- in HLTH 101 and a cumulative GPA of 2.3

Minor/General

  • Automatic Acceptance:  A- in HLTH 101 and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 
  • Pending List: B- in HLTH 101 and a cumulative GPA of 2.3

Notes

  • Students on the pending list are ranked first by grade received in HLTH 101 and then by cumulative GPA. 
  • There are normally 85 available places in second year for the Major or Joint Honours degree plans and 40 available places in the Minor degree plans.

Steps

  • During Plan Selection first-year students request a Health Studies degree on SOLUS.
  • Following Plan Selection, the SKHS will manually review all students on the pending lists.  If accepted from the pending list, your plan information in SOLUS will be updated and a new entry denoting the change will be recorded on your SOLUS record and transcript.
