2016

  • After an incredible summer volunteering with Queen’s Health Outreach, I am pleased to say that this fall I will be pursuing the Master of Science in Physical Therapy program at Queen’s. PHEKIN undergrad and all of the incredible classmates and profs I met along the way have played an invaluable role in supporting and inspiring me. I look forward to furthering my education and to seeing many PHEKIN friendly faces around campus!  S.M. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • Currently I am a full-time professional mountain bike racer pursuing Olympic dreams. I also do freelance public speaking on the topics of mental health, sport, and anxiety management.  In the future I plan on working with either the International Olympic Committee or the Canadian Olympic Committee – or, as a mental health and performance consultant for young athletes. • I am thrilled to be returning to Queen’s for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program in the Fall. Being a part of the PHEKIN family for the past 4 years with amazing people, great profs and wonderful friends has made my experience at Queen’s so incredible, and they have been a huge part in helping me to reach my goal of pursing a Master’s degree. While I will definitely miss the SKHS, I am looking forward to taking this next step in my education (and I promise to visit!).   S.M. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • The Kinesiology program at Queen’s has provided me with an excellent foundation for lifelong learning. In August, I will be studying Medicine at the University of Toronto where I will continue to explore the complexities of health and illness. Thank you to everyone who has made the past 4 years at Queen’s unforgettable! T. W. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • After travelling to Southeast Asia and working this summer, I am excited to be starting my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto this fall. My aspiration is to one day open a Physiotherapy Clinic for individuals with neurological diseases and spinal cord injuries. This goal was inspired by my education at Queen’s and my amazing experiences in the Revved Up Mini-Stream.  J.M. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • I came into the Kinesiology program unsure about what I wanted to pursue afterwards and decided to keep an open mind until the right thing came along. It wasn’t until the summer before fourth year that I discovered midwifery. I am delighted to say that I will be attending Ryerson’s Midwifery Education Program in September. I feel that my time at Queen’s has given me a solid academic and personal foundation to help me in my pursuit of this challenging career.  E.G. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • In September, I’ll be starting a two-year, Fast Track Nursing Program at the University of Toronto. After studying and working for a few years as an R.N., I hope to continue in this direction and pursue a Master’s Degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. Moving forward, I will definitely use the knowledge and experiences that I’ve gained throughout my time at Queen’s — this community has truly made a difference in my life. A.S. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • I am incredibly grateful to all my PHEKIN classmates, teaching assistants, and professors who have made my undergraduate experience an amazing one! Next year I will be pursuing my Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.  B.M. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • After graduating from Kinesiology, I will be returning to Queen’s in September to complete my Master’s in the Sport Psychology Lab. I’m so excited to come back to Queen’s for another two years! I hope to continue my graduate education through pursuing a PhD after finishing my Master’s at Queen’s.  S.L. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • After four amazing years in KIN, I am now prepared to begin my journey in Dentistry at McGill University. The knowledge and skills I gained in my years here at Queen’s University will make my transition to Dentistry a lot smoother. Good luck to everyone with their future endeavors and I look forward to seeing all of your smiles!  B.H. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • l ended up taking five years to graduate and l certainly do not regret it! ln my last year l co-founded a software start-up looking to get employees more active in the workplace through Queen’s Innovation Connector Summer Initiative (QlCSl).  lt was an incredible experience and very challenging to say the least. l have always believed that your degree does not define what you are capable of. lf you have a passion for something not directly related to Kinesiology l would encourage exploration down that avenue. Next September l will be returning to the Cook lslands in Polynesia to work with the health systems there as the country’s first Kinesiologist. l am very excited to surf most days and work with a population that Bob Ross would always describe in his 4th year class. Thanks Queen’s and its faculty for all of the support, l would not have had these opportunities without you!  A. B. – BSCH SSP KINE
  • It’s crazy how fast these four years at Queen’s really flew by. The Kinesiology program at Queen’s really set a solid foundation for my future plans. In September, I will be starting the two-year advanced standing track program for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Toronto. Although I’m sad to be leaving Queen’s, I know the amazing experiences and opportunities I’ve been given here will allow me to excel in my future studies.  C. G. – BSCH SSP KINE
