KNPE 335 – Healthy Aging

Bio:

I am currently a research fellow and PhD student in Health Quality – in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s. I also completed my undergraduate degree and masters degree in the SKHS. During my undergraduate and masters degree, I also worked in various healthcare and rehabilitation settings, such as a dietary aid at the Sienna Living Rosewood Retirement Residence, a kinesiologist and physiotherapy assistant at Quinte Orthopedics, and program developer and instructor at Kingston Community Health Centres. Currently, I am also a Research Assistant in the School of Nursing at Queen’s University, and I work as a graduate research fellow for my PhD supervisor, Dr. Rylan Egan. I have diverse experiences conducting research in topics related to Kinesiology, Health Studies, and Health Quality, where I have been involved in multiple large multi-disciplinary and international studies.

Research Interests:

My doctoral research focuses on investigating the mental health implications for LTC residents when separated from their spouse in LTC. I also have a specific interest in Participatory Action Research and qualitative methods.
