Orientation Week

Transition Period 2020

This year’s transition period for first-year students will provide a remote introduction to campus life, giving incoming students an opportunity to connect with their peers and upper student students, and to learn about the resources available at Queen’s University to support all aspects of their undergraduate experience.

Kinesiology Orientation

This year, Kinesiology students will participate in a unique (first-time ever!) remote Orientation Transition that will combine digital platforms with some of the long-lasting traditions from Kinesiology. Incoming Kinesiology students are placed in Orientation Groups of approximately 15 first-year students and 3 or 4 upper-year student leaders known as Coaches!

A message from your Head Coach:

Class of 2024!

Congratulations and welcome to the Kinesiology family! I wanted to extend a warm welcome as you begin this next chapter of life. Acceptance to Queen’s University is an amazing accomplishment, of which you should be incredibly proud. Acceptance to Queen’s Kinesiology is an exciting step into what many people, including myself, will tell you are some of the best years of your life. In our tight-knit School you will form lasting relationships, be supported by fellow students and staff, and grow academically and personally into the best versions of yourselves. Most importantly, these next few years will be exciting and full of life, and open doors for the wonderful futures that lie ahead of each of you.

During our fully remote, two-week KIN Transition Orientation, we will expose you to everything you need to know about Queen’s and Kinesiology. Filled with many fun events that touch on student life, academics, extracurricular and team bonding, you will surely feel the sense of community we value in this School, even though you won’t be physically with us. More detailed descriptions and resources can be found in the Orientation Handbook linked below, but please feel free to email me at orientation.headcoach@pheksa.queensu.ca if you have any questions, concerns, or would like clarification.

I am so excited to meet all of you and hope you’re eager to make yourselves at home here at Queen’s and within this faculty!
